While there is a common perception that Labour Day marks the start of fall – rightfully so, as school starts again, the days get a bit shorter, and so on – the last day of summer is, in fact, tomorrow!
In honour of so many things I love about summer – the sea, boats and summer dresses – I bring you some images from an August wedding I attended. The setting was incredible – the venue was an old boathouse, on a small island right off the coast of Helsinki on the Baltic Sea. Truly breathtaking, not to mention a wonderful opportunity to wear some nautical-inspired stripes, albeit rendered in a flowing pleated form. The midi length lent itself to the gentle sea breeze, while the red heels were a strong, coordinated accent to the dress. Yes, my heel may have gotten stuck in the boardwalk (the things we do for fashion!) but otherwise were surprisingly comfortable throughout the celebrations (and, of course, luckily the heel didn’t snap off). Ah, the memories!

You have made excellent post presenting Helsinki. Thank You. Did You ever visit other cites or places than Helsinki and Lahti?
Thanks so much! Yes, I’ve visited a number of different areas on my visits to Finland, including Espoo and Sysmä, but there is still so much more to see!
