Trimming the Christmas Tree

TGIF! I don’t know about you, but I have tons of holiday prep and overall tidying up to do this weekend. With that said, I am happy to announce that I have begun to deck out my Christmas tree with some lights and gold-tone ornaments. Honestyle-Christmas-Tree-Decor
As luck would have it, I actually got this (faux) tree for free! While I was planning on purchasing a small, real pine tree, I came across this one as it was about to be disposed of. I couldn’t let it go to waste, so decided to test it out in my space. Sure enough, its tall yet slender profile fit quite nicely beside a set of bookcases in my dining area. So while I didn’t end up purchasing a real tree, I did end up economizing and recycling, which I feel pretty great about. Plus I feel like the tree looks fairly realistic, not to mention that it requires no maintenance at all.

I also opted to reuse another item of mine – faux sheepskins – as a tree skirt, opting against buying a wicker basket to place the tree in (which was my initial inclination). I am really enjoying the relaxed, Scandinavian feel of my tree, which ties in nicely with my overall decor scheme.

Speaking of which, stay tuned for more holiday-inspired decor on Honestyle™ in the coming weeks – t-minus 21 days until Christmas!

Have a great weekend,
Melanie Anne
