I recently stumbled upon Jean Sibelius Square Park in Toronto. Named after the late (and highly revered) Finnish composer Jean Sibelius, this small park is nestled in a residential part of the city. Naturally, I was delighted to come across it, and had to snap a couple of pictures. When I traveled to Finland last summer, I got to revisit a concert hall named after Sibelius, in the town of Lahti (read more about that here). There is also a monument to him in the capital of Helsinki, but it’s nice to know that I can soak up a bit of that Finnish culture right here in downtown Toronto.
